so this will be my last post and will be in Video form. Mostly talking about the performance and and over view of what i think and how our production went

Script

Here is the final script. We had small alterrations to it as we rehearsed but nothing that changes the way it flows. just small words here and there.

stage

So here is a idea of what our stage set up was. Done in paint because I couldn't make the scanner work today.

so here we have the stage and the audience. Our main character is in the middle and only moves left and right. Everyone else moves around her. we all talk one at a time. we leave or positions in the corner of the stage and embody a character. the Two people closest to the audience are facing them and the two at the back are facing away from the audience so the audience can see there backs.

Skeleton script. (My notes)

We finally have a script. well sort of. We have the skeleton of a script witch will be posted shortly. it was good to finally get something permanent down. We will be doing a full script together in the next few days so that people feel comfortable with what they are saying and that we all know where to start and end. We now all have characters to play. We are still sticking to our theater blacks and are identifying characters with simple name signs like Dad, Mom,Stacy, School Dean, Tasha and Emma. This is so our audience can put whoever they want in those roles and make it relate to there lives. Our staging is also very simple. This is so if we were to expand and take it touring we would be able to do it anywhere for anyone. We wouldn't need any flash prop so it could be done in a school hall or gym or even outside.

I know that through this whole process even though we moved away from Verbatim I still kepet in mind that we should be treating and staging it as if it was verbatim.
So today was our big decision day. Today is the day that we decided whose story we are going to do and exactly how we are going to perform our play. This was a hard decision for the fact that everyone thought that there stories were the most important. As said before the problem with this is detachment.

Unfortunately we have had to move away from verbatim and into a devised piece. This is because of time and detachment. With verbatim you are meant to use the true words of the people that you have interviewed. Instead we are going to devise a piece that is based around a few of the stories that we all sheared.

I am a little disappointed just because I was looking forward to the whole verbatim. However I am excited because of the opportunity that devising opens up. it makes the creative process easier especial with this group of people. so out of to do was came up with a list of scenarios and problems to cover. The came under four headings. Sexuality Family Image and Depression. These were all dominate issues in all the stories that we sheared so we all agreed that this would be our starting point. under heading we had little snip-its form each story that was relevant to where we might want to go with our story. (These notes will be available ASAP)

By the end of the day we had finally made some good decisions. I took a decision making role because I felt that we were taking to long to decide things and we really had to get started on devising as soon as possible. We have Celena as our central character and that we will all be wearing theater blacks so that we can easily change from one character to another.  We will get character final in our next meeting so I will write about it then.

Day Two

To day was our first day with everyone there and we are  talking about what was going on and how we wanted our creation to pan out. We have decided that because of time issues that we wanted to do our own story's. This in it self has raised some issues because it makes everything a lot more personal. already we have come across a road bump with issues of respect  and understanding. it is hard to incorporate everyone into our piece because every one has different issues that they want to work through. we also had a couple of topics that were to hard to cover and it was hard rejecting ideas when they come from the people there. Another major issue was detachment. It was hard to look at what we wanted to do with out getting to attached because they were our own stories We had to all make sure that we were doing this for the right reasons and not using it as a way to rant about out own problems

I know what personally I believe that my own experiences from high school could be relatable. Even if it is  only to one person that would be enough for me to know that we helped.
